Earth Day

Today is Earth Day for anyone not in close proximity to a television, radio or computer. Sort of a mute point since I'm bloggin, ha ha, oh well...

Is it me or has the GREEN movement just exploded? I mean being “green” is being infiltrated into television shows, daily cleaning products, huge conglomerations’ such as Wal-Mart, etc… I don’t even care if it is for selfish, greedy reasons; it is getting the general population conscience of the sustainability issues we are facing.

In return we will begin raising children who are accustomed to being good stewards of the earth and will become contentious consumers later in life.

START TODAY-Ride your bike, plant a tree, sign up to recycle, anything help reduce your ecological footprint.

I agree the heightened awareness is there and that is good, but I do worry that places like Walmart are diluting the message a bit. I mean really, if I buy organic fruit from Walmart but they imported it from Australia or somewhere, spending billions in fossil fuels along the way, how is this lessening my environmental impact? I'd just hate for "green" to become too much of a buzz word.

Mostly I hate Walmart. Which totally has nothing to do with your lovely post.

God, I'm a downer today. Don't listen to me. Seriously, shut me up.

Maggie,

The only benefit Wal-Mart has is they reach a large audience which is beneficial. But I agree with you as well, I hate Wal-Mart and never shop there.

Have a good one!

I agree. I don't much mind the method or impetus, provided the results are green.

Why do I have a feeling that's going to come back and bite me in the ass?
